After searching long and hard for a suitable outdoor venue for our annual ‘drumfest’ weekend, I finally found Stanley Head OEC.

To say it’s perfect for us is an understatement. We hold drumming workshops during the day, party round huge campfires at night and hold band performances in the meadow. The setting is beautiful and facilities are fabulous.

On the last day we take part in non drumming activities such as canoeing on the lake, walking the high wire challenge or try our hand at archery etc. 2014 will be our 3rd year at Stanley Head and I can’t praise Adam and the staff highly enough. Nothing is too much trouble to ask and we are always made to feel welcome with Center staff often joining in with the fun, whilst still retaining a professional presence. Accommodation is either in the comfortable bunk barns or camping in the grounds to provide a varied price range to suit everyone’s pocket. Sue and the catering staff ensure we are well fed and again nothing is too much trouble.

Our Drumfest is growing, we began with 40 adults and this year we expect around 80-100. I really believe the wonderful venue and attitude of the staff has a great deal to do with the popularity of our event. I just wish we could do it once a month!

Stanley Head offers a plethora of learning experiences which cannot be gained from the confines of a classroom. Our children receive a rich variety of challenges which are both educational and fun; delivered by professional, experienced staff who make the experience of outdoor education an unforgettable one.

St Paul’s have visited Stanley Head OEC for years now. I cannot put into words the hard work and dedication of the staff who always ensure that each and every visit is planned to perfection and always runs smoothly. Our annual trip has been a life changing experience for children, and offers activities and managed risk that would otherwise not be available to them. Our staff love coming to the centre and enjoy the occasion just as much as the children ! Thank you for allowing us to return year after year to share your wonderful facilities.
